A magical afternoon in the WKS Music Lounge
On Thursday 11th December, our pupils lit up the Music Lounge with an incredible mix of performances—from festive classics to heartfelt solos, lively duets, original compositions, and even full band numbers. It was a true celebration of confidence, talent, and creativity across the school.
Performances included:
-
“It’s Beginning to Look a Lot Like Christmas”
-
Soulful piano pieces
-
Powerful takes on Adele and Frank Sinatra
-
Upbeat favourites such as “Sweet Caroline”
-
Beautiful Christmas duets
Our drummers, pianists, vocalists, dancers, and young composers all brought something special to the stage. Pupils fully embraced the professional setup, using microphones, keyboards, drums, amps, and backing tracks, showing fantastic focus and enthusiasm. Many acts were recorded, giving pupils the opportunity to reflect on their progress and celebrate their hard work.
A huge congratulations to every performer, including those who shared talent-show videos and recorded compositions. Your courage and creativity made the afternoon truly unforgettable.
Thank you to all the staff who made the event possible, from setting up equipment to supporting pupils behind the scenes. And, of course, thank you to everyone who came along to cheer on our performers.
It was a wonderful way to celebrate music, confidence, and festive joy at West Kirby School & College, and we’re already looking forward to the next Music Lounge!
